Description
There is something evocative and nostalgic about this lone woman's shoe left atop a cobbler's table in the local store of a ghost town long ago abandoned in the rolling mountains of Garnet, Montana.
An authentic mining town established during the Gold Rush days of the mid-to-late 1800's and populated on and off up to the mid-20th century, Garnet was ultimately taken over the Bureau of Land Management, which continues to manage and preserve its unique historical heritage.
As for the white shoe: despite its shabbiness, it was clearly fanciful footwear for some Garnet female and, given that, it retains some measure of the ghost she, too, left behind.
